Ethel Merle (Peggy) Synold, deceased, Late of Nowra, NSW Medal (OAM) in the General Division For service to the community of Kangaroo Valley, particularly through support for improved health care facilities. A resident of Kangaroo Valley her entire life, Mrs Synold gave years of valuable service to her community. A founding member and past president of the Children's Medical Research Institute (Kangaroo Valley branch), Mrs Synold also served as president of the Kangaroo Valley Bowling Club, as a volunteer with Pioneer Farm Museum and was a life member of the Kangaroo Valley Show Society. Mrs Synold was a member of the Kangaroo Valley Lions Club, a member of the Red Cross Society and a driver and volunteer cook for Meals on Wheels. Mrs Synold died on July 22, 2005.
